Further annotated PAINTED BY G.C. BINGHAM in type below the image on the right and ENGRAVED BY JOHN SARTAIN lower left corner.This mezzotint was exhibited at the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg through the Art in Embassies Program. It was selected by Ann Wagner, the American Ambassador to Luxembourg at that time, along with other important works depicting scenes and themes of importance to the state of Missouri and its history. Ms. Wagner was appointed ambassador in 2005 and now represents Missouri as Congresswoman.Sight size measures 21.75 x 29.5 with a framed size of 35.5 x 43.25 inches.Good condition, noting close margins, a small surface rub upper right quadrant, stain and surface irregularities throughout the margins.
